Special achievements

Performed at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in the presence of Hon’ble President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Choreographed the Indo-Asean Commomerative Summit programme, in the presence of the Hon’ble President of India Sh. Pranab Mukherjee, and ten Heads of State and Government.

Meenu is one of the few danseuses who can perform Simhanandini, a Kuchipudi dance piece in which a lion is sketched with the toes  of the feet. 

‘Firsts’

Meenu Thakur is the first danseuse to perform in a jail, when she performed at the Tihar Jail Complex in 2014, and at the Central Jail Mandoli Complex, New Delhi, in 2018.

Meenu is the first Kuchipudi danseuse to be awarded with the U.P. Sangeet Natak Akademi award.
